Dr Amy Oswald, Clinical Psychologist
Amy is an AHPRA-endorsed Clinical Psychologist and Board-approved supervisor with over 15 years of experience. She works with adolescents aged 16 and over and adults experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. Amy provides therapy exclusively via secure telehealth appointments, allowing clients to access support from the comfort and convenience of their own space.
Amy is deeply committed to creating a compassionate, welcoming, and non-judgemental therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, understood, and respected. She takes the time to understand each person’s individual story, current circumstances, and emotional needs, working collaboratively to ensure therapy is tailored to what matters most to them. Amy has a particular interest in helping clients understand and address the underlying causes of psychological distress. She supports clients to explore past experiences, longstanding patterns, and unmet emotional needs that may be contributing to their current concerns. Together, Amy and her clients develop clear therapy goals and a practical plan for creating meaningful and lasting change.
Amy incorporates Schema Therapy with Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to support clients in understanding and addressing the underlying causes of psychological distress. She also draws on other evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing, depending on each client’s individual needs and goals.
Amy also has a special interest in supporting medical, nursing, and allied health professionals. She understands the unique pressures associated with working in demanding healthcare roles, including high levels of responsibility, workplace stress, burnout, compassion fatigue, and the emotional impact of caring for others.
Amy’s approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and practical. Her goal is to help clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves while building effective strategies that support them in moving forward with greater confidence and clarity.
