Maya Heighes-Ashby, Registered Psychologist

Maya is a Registered Psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing a range of emotional, behavioural, and developmental challenges. She has a particular interest in supporting children and adolescents with anxiety, emotional regulation, school-related difficulties, ADHD, friendship challenges, low self-esteem, and navigating the ups and downs of growing up. Maya also enjoys working with young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, perfectionism, self-doubt, and life transitions, helping them build confidence and move towards a more fulfilling life.

Maya is warm, approachable, and compassionate, creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. She takes the time to understand each person's unique strengths, experiences, and goals, and works collaboratively to develop practical strategies that promote resilience, confidence, and meaningful change. Maya draws on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies, tailoring treatment to the individual needs of each client.

Maya currently works as part of the in-house team at Camberwell Therapy Hub, a boutique therapy space in the heart of Camberwell. Maya is currently accepting new referrals.
